Our first Basenji, purchased from Melody Russell, had earned 9 points and had produced one litter when the newly developed test for Hemolytic Anemia revealed that Charisma was a carrier, and she was spayed. One clear daughter, however, was bred, producing the lovely Bia of SunDiata. Before she could begin her show career, Bia was hit by a car, and walked with a permanent limp. She was bred once, however, and produced Am/Can. Ch. Dogo Birocco of SunDiata.
